Officials: Rexburg water safe to drink, advisory is over
Published at | Updated atREXBURG – The Eastern Idaho Public Health Department has lifted a water advisory after tests came back clear of contaminants.
In a letter sent to city leaders and businesses Tuesday afternoon, the department stated food establishments could resume normal practices and usage of water.
The Department of Environmental Quality tested water samples submitted by the city and reported the samples healthy.
Businesses using Rexburg city water were forced to take precautionary measures since the advisory went into effect Friday.
A water sample measuring a type of bacteria called coliform exceeded the standard measurement, forcing the DEQ to issue the temporary water advisory.
