Man arrested in NY for murder of Boise woman

BOISE — A Boise man has been arrested in connection to the death of 18-year-old Sierra Bush.
Boise police say officers in New York City arrested Bruce Marchant, 61, on charges of murder, rape and kidnapping in the first degree.
A warrant for Marchant’s arrest was issued Tuesday. On Wednesday, police in New York City notified Idaho authorities that Marchant had been in a hospital in the area. Investigators arrested him Thursday.
Bush disappeared in September. Her body was found near Idaho City in late October.
Boise Police are working to extradite Marchant back to Idaho where the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office will handle the case.
