CALDWELL — The Canyon County Coroner’s Office has identified one of the three victims from a suspected triple homicide that occurred on KCID Road near Caldwell.

Cheryl Baker, 56, of Ogden, Utah, was positively identified through dental records, according to a statement released by Canyon County spokesperson Joe Decker.

The coroner’s office said it is continuing to work to positively identify the other two victims and will release that information as it becomes available.

“This gives something to focus on for a moment, but it still leaves open the question why,” Byron Baker, Cheryl Baker’s brother, told the Press-Tribune on Friday.

According to the Canyon County Assessor’s Office, Cheryl Baker and Gerald “Mike” Bullinger were owners of the home at 216 S. KCID Road as of May 3. All three of the bodies were found on the property.

Bullinger is considered a person of interest in the case.

“Take care of my dogs. I don’t know if I’m coming back.”

Byron Baker said that as far as he knew, his sister and Bullinger were married for almost 10 years.

Byron Baker said Bullinger and his sister were still in the process of moving from Utah to the new home in Caldwell.

Byron Baker described a strange text his sister had sent to a close friend in Utah around June 11, which read: “Take care of my dogs. I don’t know if I’m coming back.”

That was the last time anyone heard from Cheryl Baker, according to Byron Baker.

On June 19, three women were discovered partially covered in a shed by police after a welfare check from a family member who called because they had not heard from one of the women known to be living at the house for some time, said Canyon County Chief Deputy Marv Dashiell.

The women were each killed with a single gunshot to the head, Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris said.

Byron Baker said his sister had just retired from her job as an art teacher at GreenWood Charter School in Harrisville, Utah.

Baker met up with his sister along with Bullinger and family for Christmas in 2016 in New Mexico. He said they seemed happy then.

Bullinger, was last spotted in Ogden, Utah, over two weeks ago.

Canyon County Sheriff’s Office has issued a nationwide warrant for Bullinger for failure to report deaths to law enforcement.

Bullinger may be driving a white 2007 Ford Focus with Utah license plates 129UMP. He is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 240 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
