FEEL GOOD FRIDAY: Why we gave $200 to this man wearing yellow high heels

  Published at

Feel Good Friday is a weekly segment where EastIdahoNews.com partners with Wackerli Subaru to surprise people in our community with random acts of kindness.

This week we decided to visit Rob Empey and give him a $200 donation for the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser.

Rob has walked every year in the annual event and is passionate about ending domestic violence and sexual assaults in east Idaho.

We told him we wanted to interview him for an upcoming story about the walk-a-thon but he had no idea we were going to surprise him with a donation for his cause.

Rob will join other men by walking a mile in women’s shoes next Tuesday, Sept. 19 along Memorial Drive in Idaho Falls. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m and the walk starts at 6:00 p.m. A tailgate party will follow.

Money raised will benefit the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center in Idaho Falls.

To participate or to make a donation, contact DVSAC, at (208) 529-4352 or email jhess@co.bonneville.id.us or naldinger@co.bonneville.id.us.
