IDAHO FALLS — Court documents obtained by EastIdahoNews.com show two accused package thieves were found with over $1,500 worth of items in their vehicle.

On Dec. 5, the night Nicholle Lockyer and Eduardo Anguiano-Gonzalez were arrested, Chad and Jessica Bateman reportedly looked out a window of their house and saw a man exit a vehicle, walk up to their neighbor’s house and take a package from the front doorstep. After the Batemans watched the man get back inside their vehicle, driven by a woman, the Batemans decided to follow the couple.

Court documents show after calling police, the Bateman’s allegedly witnessed Lockyer and Anguiano-Gonzalez take packages from multiple houses until police arrived.

Officers found 12 packages addressed to various different people. Police have returned the packages to as many owners they have been able to locate. The total value of the items believed to be stolen is $902.82, according to documents, but police also found various items they have not been able to confirm as stolen that have a total value of $695.

Those items include:

  • Alesis Recital keyboard $311
  • Crayola Easy Animation Studio $25
  • Two Radio Flyer Little Red Toy Wagons $40
  • Ring Video Doorbell $125
  • Youghporia Outdoors Quick Dry Tavel Towel $20
  • Caw.Car Universal Car Mount $21
  • Energizer 24 pack AA batteries $13
  • O’Keefe’s Foot Cream $8
  • Two Anker Sound Core 2 Speakers $48
  • Two 2Nice WFloss W05 $60
  • Anguiano-Gonzalez chose not to speak to police after he was taken into custody and Lockyer told officers she thought he was “making drug deals.”

According to court documents, Lockyer was driving Anguiano-Gonzalez in her car because, as she told police, he said he would pay her to do so. He allegedly directed Lockyer to a house he said was his wife’s when he got out of the car and returned with multiple packages.

Even though she told police she thought that was “strange,” she continued to drive him to other houses where he would return with more packages.

According to court documents, Lockyer told police she had driven Anguiano-Gonzalez to a house the previous night where he entered and later returned with a duffel bag, a box with wireless speakers and a musical keyboard.

Felony grand theft, misdemeanor petit-theft and drug charges have been filed against Lockyer and Anguiano-Gonzalez. They are scheduled to appear in Bonneville County Court on Dec. 20.

Lockyer is also facing felony grand theft and burglary charges in Bingham County from 2016. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 5.
