Trial for Boise mass-stabbing suspect delayed until 2020

BOISE (KIVI) — The trial of accused killer Timmy Kinner has been delayed until January 2020.

Kinner, who is accused of stabbing and killing a 3-year-old girl at her birthday party in Boise in June, was set to face a death penalty trial starting early in 2019, but the defense requested an extra year to prepare for the case.

On June 30, police say Kinner attacked and stabbed nine people, including Ruya Kadir, the child who was celebrating her birthday. Prosecutors asked for a death penalty trial in October.

During Thursday’s court hearing, the defense also mentioned a possible future motion to move the trial out of Ada County. That would come in 2019.
