Bingham’s Got Talent to hold 10th annual show

BLACKFOOT — You’re invited to participate in Bingham’s Got Talent 10th annual talent show next month.

The talent show is Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center. Angels Among Us — the Relay for Life team from Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Blackfoot — organizes the event.

“There is so much talent around,” said Tom Drysdale, the event chairman. “It’s amazing.”

Participants can be in one of two divisions: under 16 years old or the 16 years and older division. Registration is not limited to Bingham County residents. Performances are limited to 5 minutes.

To show off your talent, you need to fill out a registration form at at www.jasonleemumc.org, the Methodist Church on University Avenue or at Music & Families.

Registration forms and a $25 registration fee must be turned in by Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. at the Methodist Church. (The church will be open until 4 p.m. that day.)

Participants can be in one of two divisions; under 16 years of age division or the 16 years and over division. Registration is not limited to residents of Bingham County. Performances are limited to 5 minutes.

For the seventh year, the master of ceremonies will be Karole Honas, anchor for Local News 8.

The prizes

A panel of three judges will select a first-place winner in each division. Each winner will receive $100 and a trophy.

A People’s Choice Award will also be given. The audience will be able to vote for the winner of the award. Each vote costs $1. The audience can vote as many times as they wish. The winner will receive $50 and a trophy. An extra special award will be given this year, and a drawing for door prizes will take place.

The winners of the talent show will be asked to perform at Relay for Life on June 21.

If you go

Although the event starts at 7, Lyle Albertson and his Strait Country Band perform from 6 to 7 p.m.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for kids. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society and locals who need financial help with doctor appointments.
