Yes, Blaze Pizza is still coming to east Idaho

AMMON — Since we posted our story last week about Costa Vida opening at their new location inside Ammon’s Sandcreek Commons Shopping Center, many of you have wondered about Blaze Pizza, which is setting up shop in the space next door.

Rachelle Fenderson, the restaurant’s franchisee, tells EastIdahoNews.com they are hoping to open in March, pending any construction delays.

The 2,400 square foot restaurant has been in the works for about a year. Fenderson says Ammon was selected to be Idaho’s fifth location because of all the growth in the area.

“Idaho Falls is growing. It’s got a great retail center there with the movie theater and all the other stores,” says Fenderson.

Blaze Pizza is a build-your-own pizza concept that includes a menu of seven signature pizzas made fresh right in front of you by a chef.

“You can add any toppings you like, make whatever pizza you like and it all costs the same. We’re intended to be fast enough for lunch. From beginning to end, you’ll have a pizza in your hand in less than ten minutes,” she says.

Blaze uses the cleanest, freshest ingredients available, according to Fenderson, with dough made in-house daily inside their dough room. Fenderson says that’s one thing that sets them apart from other pizza restaurants.

Once they open, Fenderson says they would like to have a grand opening. Pi day, March 14, is a big event for the franchise where all pizzas on their menu are $3.14.

“If we open that week, then we’ll use Pi day as our grand opening. If we open earlier or later, we’ll have something else planned for the grand opening.”

The restaurant will be open seven days a week. Exact hours of operation have not yet been determined, but Fenderson says it will probably be similar to other restaurants, which are generally open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“We have really great pizza. Come check us out (when we open). We’ll win you over,” says Fenderson.

Blaze Pizza was formed in 2012 in Pasadena, California. There are more than 270 locations in 40 states, with four locations in Idaho. The first was built in Meridian in 2014, and others followed soon after in Boise, Nampa and Twin Falls. Blaze Pizza is the second-fastest-growing restaurant chain in the nation, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
