Some east Idaho highways reopen, others remain closed

IDAHO FALLS — The following roads and highways remain closed as of 3:15 p.m. Monday:
- U.S. Highway 20 between Ashton and the Montana state line
- U.S. Highway 20 between Idaho Falls and the ID 33 junction near Butte City
- U.S. Highway 20 between Carey to Arco
- Idaho Highway 87 between Island Park and the Montana state line
- Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia
- Idaho Highway 33 at the Teton Pass
- Idaho Highway 34 between Soda Springs and the Wyoming state line
- Idaho Highway 47 between Ashton and Bear Gulch

REXBURG — The Idaho Transportation Department has closed the following highways due to blowing and drifting snow as of 10:30 a.m. Monday.
- U.S. Highway 20 between Ashton and the Montana state line
- U.S. Highway 20 between Idaho Falls and the ID 33 junction near Butte City
- U.S. Highway 20 between Casey to Arco
- U.S. Highway 26 between Swan Valley and ID 33 at Victor
- Idaho Highway 28 near Mud Lake between ID 33 and ID 22
- Idaho Highway 87 between Island Park and the Montana state line
- Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia.
- Idaho Highway 33 between Newdale and Tetonia.
- Idaho Highway 33 at the Teton Pass
- Idaho Highway 34 between Soda Springs and the Wyoming state line
- Idaho Highway 47 between Ashton and Bear Gulch
It’s not clear when the roads will reopen.
Most of eastern Idaho is under a winter storm warning or winter weather advisory until late Tuesday afternoon. Significant snowfall is expected throughout the region, but particularly along the Idaho/Wyoming border. High wind gusts are contributing to poor road conditions around eastern Idaho.
