Two men arrested on drug trafficking charges

IDAHO FALLS — Two Idaho Falls men were arrested on felony drug charges Wednesday.

Police reports show Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies and Idaho State Probation and Parole officers responded to a residence on the 3100 block of East Lincoln Road at around 6:20 p.m.

The men, Christopher L. Haynes, 33, and Jonathan R. Sloan, 28, were being detained near a vehicle as part of a probation check.

During the check, a probation officer and a deputy located multiple baggies inside the vehicle containing a substance that appeared to be heroin and methamphetamine. Deputies later determined the amount of heroin was just short of five grams and the methamphetamine was approximately one and a half grams.

Haynes and Sloan were taken into custody and transported to the Bonneville County Jail where they were booked for felony possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking.

A 25-year-old female was also arrested at the scene on an active warrant. She was transported to Bonneville County Jail, and during booking, deputies found a concealed a syringe with suspected drug residue or liquid on her person that she failed to disclose upon her arrest. She was charged with two drug-related misdemeanors.
