REXBURG – A medical plaza recently opened inside the old CAL Ranch building in Rexburg.

Mountain View Hospital Medical Plaza opened in November at 404 North 2nd East. Clinic Services Director Courtney Marshall tells EastIdahoNews.com the building is a “one-stop-shop” for a patient’s medical needs.

The 24,000-square-foot building has 14 patient room and includes a Community Care clinic that offers urgent and family practice, an occupational therapy clinic, neurology and sleep specialists, urologists and ear, nose and throat doctors.

“We also have additional space to continue to grow the medical home and add more specialists,” Marshall says.

The building’s location was an ideal fit for the medical plaza, says Marshall.

“All the (services in the building) had different locations in Rexburg (before the plaza was complete). None of the parking was ever great and so we wanted to bring all of that together to provide a better location for patients,” she says.

The Community Care relocated from its old location on Main Street. Manager Ashley Sutton says moving into the medical plaza has been a good thing.

“It’s been great. They’ve liked the facility. It’s really nice on the inside. There is more space … that we can accommodate more patients,” Sutton says.

Sutton says the additional space makes it so patients don’t have to wait as long and they get patients in and out the door quicker.

CAL Ranch closed its doors in 2015, and moved to the old Kmart building across the street. The old CAL Ranch building had been vacant for more than five years when Mountain View Hospital Medical Plaza moved in.

Marshall says construction on the medical plaza got underway about three years ago.

“We found the new space and we were excited with all the potential we saw. Slowly, the building began to morph into a medical plaza. This would give us the ability to provide (multiple services) … and several different specialty options to the community in one convenient location.”

Marshall says they’re planning to expand with additional specialty services and continue to provide quality care for patients.

Mountain View Hospital Medical Plaza is open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a 5 p.m. closing time Sunday.
