This is the team’s second victory in two years. The Bandits won the American Legion World Series with a 5-3 victory over Fargo, North Dakota in 2019. Last year’s tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The championship game in Shelby, North Carolina was originally scheduled for Tuesday night, but was rescheduled for Wednesday because of bad weather.

The team is slated to arrive back in Idaho Falls early Thursday morning. The community is invited to welcome them home in the Melaleuca Parking lot sometime between 2 and 3 a.m.

“They are bringing this back for the city, let’s show them our love and support! Be there!!!,” another Facebook post says.
