Governor extends half-staff flag directive

  Published at

BOISE — Governor Brad Little updated an existing flag directive Thursday morning. Flags across the state will be flown until sunset on Monday, Oct. 30, according to a news release from the Office of the Governor.

“The President has ordered the lowering of flags to half-staff immediately, as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated in Lewiston, Maine,” the news release stated.

The President’s order overlaps a half-staff flag directive put in place to honor 36-year-old Post Falls Police Officer Nicholas McDaniel, who died of a massive heart attack while on duty Sunday.

“Therefore, U.S. and State of Idaho flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on Monday, October 30, 2023, for both flag directives,” the statement said.
