Missing elderly man found dead in Rexburg

REXBURG — The body of a missing Hispanic man was found in Rexburg on Monday.

EastIdahoNews.com reported on Friday that the Rexburg Police Department was looking for Herlindo Aguilar-Salgodo. He was in his 90s. He was last seen on Nov. 30 in Rexburg, walking on North 2nd East by McDonald’s, police said.

Assistant Chief Gary Hagen told EastIdahoNews.com on Monday that Aguilar-Salgodo was found by officers in Rexburg at around 3:30 p.m.

“We are very thankful for the public and for the tips and concern they have shown! Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family, as he was well known to the community,” Hagen said. 

Hagen said more information should be available later about what specifically happened to Aguilar-Salgodo. No foul play is suspected. Officers are still on the scene investigating. The exact location of where he was found in Rexburg was not immediately released.
