Local schools announce delays Wednesday due to extreme cold

IDAHO FALLS — The following schools have announced changes to schedules on Wednesday due to anticipated frigid temperatures.
DELAYS
- Mackay School District — 2 hour delay
- Monticello Montessori Charter School — 2 hour delay
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme cold warning for many parts of eastern Idaho from 8 p.m. on Tuesday until 10 a.m. on Wednesday. A second warning is in effect from 9 p.m.Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday.

The main area of impact includes the Rexburg, Rigby and Idaho Falls areas, and into Arco and Mud Lake. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero are expected.
