New business will take out trash for customers

Never miss trash pick up day again with new garbage bin fetch service

IDAHO FALLS – Jalen Fuhriman and Hunter Reese want to help you take out the trash.

The pair are the owners of Holy Rollers, a business that takes your garbage can to the curb weekly for trash pick up and then takes the empty bin back to its original location.

Around 45 customers from Idaho Falls to Menan are benefitting from the service since it launched in January.

“We expected it to be one demographic and we were wrong,” Fuhriman tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Though it’s available to anyone who’s interested, the duo cater primarily to elderly people who have a hard time getting the trash out on time or to people who travel a lot and aren’t home on garbage pick up day.

Fuhriman and Reese work full-time at Eagle Rock Engineering. Fuhriman is also part-owner of Spitfire Pickleball. He got the idea for this business on his way to work one day. He and his wife had forgotten to take out the trash that day and they had to wait until the following week for the garbage truck to come again.

That night, he noticed multiple trash cans at neighbor’s houses were still out by the curb.

“I was like, ‘I wonder if someone would pay me to take their cans back to the house?'” Fuhriman recalls.

He kept thinking about the idea and eventually asked Reese what he thought. Reese was intrigued and decided to partner with Fuhriman.

As Fuhriman continued researching, he discovered a similar type of business in Arizona. This gave them some reassurance to give it a go in eastern Idaho.

They started offering the service for $30 a month, but have found a sweet spot at $20 a month. They’re hoping to partner with Eagle Rock Sanitation and other commercial vendors to boost revenue.

They’ve thought about adding additional services in the future, such as trash bin cleaning. Fuhriman would also like to expand the business out of state.

Fuhriman and Reese are happy to serve customers and look forward to acquiring more as time goes on.
