A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until the end of the year, the East Idaho News elves will be delivering gifts from Secret Santa and we’ll be sharing the surprise videos here.

Juvenal’s life was turned upside down in 2024 when a severe foot infection led to multiple surgeries. When those procedures failed, doctors were left with only one option: a below-the-knee amputation.

For Juvenal, who has worked since the age of 13, the loss went far beyond his leg. Friends and family say his identity has always been tied to hard work, strength and providing for others. His job was not just a paycheck, but a source of pride and a way to show love to those around him.

The amputation left him in a wheelchair and struggling with the sudden loss of independence he once carried with dignity. Simple daily tasks now require extra time, patience and emotional strength.

Despite the challenges, those closest to him say Juvenal remains gentle, humble and selfless — the kind of person who can always be counted on to help others. His greatest wish is to walk again, return to work and feel like himself.

That goal, however, has felt out of reach. The prosthetic leg he needs costs about $13,000 out of pocket, and his insurance will not cover the expense, leaving him physically and emotionally stuck.

That’s when a Secret Santa heard about Juvenal and asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise him with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above.
