Woman killed, two rushed to hospital in northern Idaho crash

BONNER COUNTY — Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday around 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 95 near East Dufort Road.
According to ISP, a 60-year-old woman driving a Dodge Dakota attempted to cross the highway when her vehicle was hit by a northbound Dodge Ram driven by a 65-year-old man. The Ram’s driver was wearing a seat belt, but the Dakota’s driver and her 63-year-old male passenger were not.
The Dakota’s driver died at the scene. Her passenger, along with the driver of the Ram, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Next of kin has been notified. The roadway was blocked for roughly three hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
