IDAHO FALLS — Two people from Idaho Falls were arrested Saturday after police say they stole a large amount of items from a storage unit.
Frank Ruben Addleman, 55, of Idaho Falls and Kelly Lynn Dean, 45, of Idaho Falls, are both charged with burglary and criminal conspiracy, according to a news release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
Addleman was also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Dean was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies were called to a storage unit near 1st Street and Ammon Road on Saturday morning, where the owners of the unit had discovered a large amount of their property had been taken, including a vehicle, furniture and other personal items.
Law enforcement obtained security video from multiple nearby businesses and identified the suspects and a pickup truck involved in hauling the property away.
Deputies went to a home listed on the suspect vehicle’s registration in the 600 block of West 19th Street, where they allegedly found the pickup truck with some of the stolen property still loaded in the back.
While there, the owner of the vehicle, Addleman, drove by the area in a different car with a woman, later identified as Dean. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle as Addleman was parking and trying to walk away from the car, and detained both of them.
Deputies say the suspects were wearing the same clothes as they had seen in the security video earlier.
During a search of the car, deputies reportedly found a container in the center console of the vehicle with just over 2 grams of methamphetamine. Dean was also allegedly found in possession of just over 2 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both Addleman and Dean allegedly admitted to being involved in the theft and took deputies to a separate storage unit where the stolen vehicle was taken. Addleman admitted to knowing methamphetamine was in his car but denied it belonged to him or Dean, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies returned the stolen property and vehicle to the owners.
Addleman and Dean were both booked into to the Bonneville County Jail. Further court hearings have not been scheduled.
Though Addleman and Dean have been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean they committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
