Looking for something ‘over-the-top’ delicious? Look no further

IDAHO FALLS — A local food truck is serving up delicious burgers, over-the-top sandwiches and all-new items, all the time.
Rob Montague, owner and chef at Rob’s Over the Top Sandwiches, says he’s always had a passion for cooking and loves adding new and exciting items to the menu.
“We opened up last April, and we do a little bit of everything,” says Montague. “Smash burgers, Philly steak sandwiches, we run specials every week, and we just like to switch it up.”
Rob was kind enough to let us come try three of his most popular menu items.
First, we tried the Authentic Gyro, which Rob says he makes in memory of the old Tom’s Gyro restaurant, which closed in May 2022.

“Ever since Tom’s closed, you can’t find a good one,” says Montague. “I’m nailing it; everybody’s digging it.”
This was DELICIOUS. The meat is cooked and cut fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the tzatziki sauce is creamy and tangy, a perfect match to the warm pita bread.
Next, we tried the best seller, the Chubby Checker burger.
“It’s different, and all the flavors join together very good,” Montague says. “The green chili makes it with the grilled onions.”
This thing is a MONSTER. Complete with two quarter-pound smashed patties, grilled onions, cheese, grilled green chilis, and a homemade secret sauce, this burger will most likely put you in a food coma, but it will be worth it.
Last, but definitely not least, we tried the Island Chicken Philly.
“We like beach vibes. We like to go to San Diego and go surfing, and be on the beach,” Montague says. “I had a sandwich down there, in San Diego, last time we were there, similar to this, and I thought it was pretty good, so I thought I’d make you my own version.”
On top of deliciously seasoned grilled chicken sits a mountain of sweet, juicy pineapple, mushrooms and green peppers, all doused in a fantastic sweet-and-sour sauce, all inside a warm bun.
Everything we tried at Rob’s Over the Top Sandwiches was, dare I say, over-the-top good.
Make sure to try their amazing food at 810 West Broadway Street, across from Rad Auto Detail Pros. They are open on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
