Late-night fire destroys shed, shuts down busy Chubbuck road

CHUBBUCK — Flames lit up the night in Chubbuck late Thursday night as a fire engulfed a shed, shutting down one of the town’s busiest streets.
According to authorities, the Chubbuck Fire Department responded to the blaze on the 500 block of East Chubbuck Road near Hiline Road around 11 p.m. and extinguished the flames.
No injuries were reported; however, the shed was gutted by the fire.
East Chubbuck Road remained closed in the area of the fire into early Friday morning as emergency crews continued working at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released information about what caused the fire, and it’s not known whether any homes or vehicles nearby were damaged by the burning shed.
Chubbuck Police, Idaho State Police and Bannock County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene, and more information is expected to be released on the incident.
