RIGBY — The seventh annual Quilt Show is taking place at Jefferson County Fairgrounds, and it is bigger than ever.

Happening Aug. 21 to 22 in the commercial building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, the Behind the Seams Quilt Guild is hosting its annual quilt show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will also host several vendors and food trucks. The event used to be held at the Rigby Museum but has since outgrown it, and the guild wants it to be bigger and better.

“We’re excited to see everyone come and see our quilts,” Quilt Show Committee Chairperson Kristen Keller said.

The Quilt Show has a $5 entrance fee for people aged 13 and up. Those 12 and under get in for free. You can pay another $5 for a chance to win a quilt in a raffle. The raffle winner will be drawn on Sept. 2.

The Quilt Show’s main segment includes a competition across several categories: Youth, Miniatures, Wearables, Art Quilts and Traditional Quilts. Each participant is limited to five submissions.

Expected prizes for the competition range from gift certificates across several local businesses and ribbons.

According to Keller, this quilt show is a way to help give back to the Rigby Senior Center and many others that have helped the guild grow to what it is today.

The Quilt Show is currently still accepting submissions for the competition. Anyone still interested may drop by the Rigby Senior Center at 391 Community Lane in Rigby on Aug. 15 between 4 and 7 p.m.

“We are so excited to be hosting our quilt show for the seventh consecutive year to share our love of quilting as well as to help our local community. Please come and help us support the Farnsworth Museum and the Rigby Senior Center,” Keller said.
