Haircuts for a good cause: Idaho Falls salon hosting annual Cut-a-Thon

IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls salon is offering $20 haircuts for a good cause as it marks the 14th year of an annual community fundraiser.
Salon h.davis will hold its annual Cut-a-Thon on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with money raised benefiting the Community Food Basket of Idaho Falls.
During the event, stylists will offer $20 dry haircuts with no washing or styling. No appointments are necessary, and walk-ins are welcome throughout the day.
Money raised from haircuts, tips, raffle tickets and donations will go to the Community Food Basket to help provide food to local individuals and families in need.
“We believe that giving back to the community we live and work in is incredibly important,” organizers said in a news release. “The Cut-a-Thon is a fun way for our staff, clients, local businesses and community members to come together and make a difference while getting a great haircut.”
The fundraiser has been held annually for 14 years and will include more than just haircuts. This year’s event will feature food and treats from local vendors, a giant inflatable slide, Bricks & Minifigs and discounted salon products.
Raffles will also be held throughout the day with prizes donated by local businesses, including ZZ Coffee, Xhale Spa and Paramount.
One of the more unusual prizes is an autographed guitar signed by Vixen, the all-female glam metal band. The guitar was donated by the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.
