Idaho Falls Symphony to offer free ‘Sounds of America’ concert at Freeman Park

IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Falls Symphony will bring an evening of patriotic music, food and family activities to Freeman Park during its annual free Concert in the Park on Saturday, Sept. 19.
The “Sounds of America” concert begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Freeman Park Amphitheater and is free and open to the public.
Led by Idaho Falls Symphony Assistant Conductor Robert Tueller, the concert will feature a variety of American music, including John Williams’ “Cowboys Overture,” Charles Ives’ “Variations on America,” “Ashokan Farewell” and a Duke Ellington medley.
The program will also include Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” featuring a surprise guest narrator, and will conclude with John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.”

Concertgoers are invited to bring a picnic or purchase food from several food trucks, including Tortas Lokas, The Corndog Company, Rose Marie’s Gluten Free, Mad Pretzels, Mountain Berry Bowls and Mrs. Powell’s.
Chesbro Music Company will host an instrument petting zoo, giving children and adults an opportunity to handle and try a variety of musical instruments. Idaho National Laboratory and Westmark Credit Union will also offer trivia and giveaways.
The concert is part of Idaho Falls Arts Day, which will include arts and music events throughout the city.
Other activities include Rolling on the River from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho; Jazz on A Street from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 to 3:45 p.m.; free admission to ARTitorium from 2 to 5 p.m.; and a 2026-27 season preview street party featuring 90’s Mixtape beginning at 6 p.m. on A Street in front of the Willard Arts Center.
