Man killed, another hospitalized after SUV rolls and bursts into flames

EMMETT — One man was killed and another was flown to a hospital after an SUV rolled off a road near Emmett and burst into flames Wednesday night.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Montour Road near State Highway 52, east of Emmett, according to Idaho State Police.
Investigators say a 2004 Ford Excursion was traveling north on Montour Road when it overcorrected while going around a curve. The SUV slid off the road and rolled, ejecting both people inside.
The vehicle then became fully engulfed in flames after coming to a stop.
A 45-year-old man from Great Falls, Montana, died at the scene. A 42-year-old man from Emmett was taken by air ambulance to a nearby hospital. Police did not release information about his condition.
Montour Road was blocked for approximately four and a half hours while emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
