Two women charged with trafficking meth; deputies find over $290K in cash inside truck

SALMON — A routine patrol a few miles north of Salmon near the Wagonhammer area resulted in the arrest of two individuals charged with trafficking methamphetamine and other drugs.
According to court documents, a traffic stop was conducted on a 2026 Dodge Ram 1500 that had crossed the center line of U.S. Highway 93 multiple times.
During the stop, the deputy with the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office reported smelling a heavy odor of marijuana from the vehicle.
As a result, the deputy ordered the two passengers out of the vehicle and conducted a search. The deputy identified the occupants as Coty Marie Wilson, 43, of Missoula, Montana and Brandy Mist Wilson, 51, of Great Falls, Montana.
The search of the truck resulted in 115 grams of marijuana, 40 grams of methamphetamine and 3 grams of fentanyl. The methamphetamine was found inside a Tupperware container.
Other drugs that were found were tabs of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms and various items of drug paraphernalia. When officers seized the truck, they recovered $295,467 from inside the vehicle.
Deputies arrested both women and booked them at the Lemhi County Jail.
Coty was charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, two felony counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Brandy was charged with felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, and felony and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Coty and Brandy are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 28 before Magistrate Judge Andrew Woolf.
Both women have been appointed a public defender. The Idaho State Public Defender’s Office does not comment on active cases.
Although Coty and Brandy have been accused of a crime, that does not necessarily mean they committed it. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty
