The following is a news release from the American Automobile Association in Idaho.

BOISE – Idaho drivers are saving a little bit of money as they fuel up for some Halloween fun this week, but scary prices could be waiting just around the corner.

According to AAA, Monday’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the Gem State is $4.67, which is 13 cents less than a week ago and 33 cents less than a month ago, but $1.27 per gallon more than a year ago.

The national average currently sits at $4.28 per gallon, which is a penny cheaper than a week ago and 20 cents less than a month ago, but $1.23 more than a year ago. Idaho dropped from 7th to 9th place in the country for the most expensive fuel.

Today, the West Texas Intermediate benchmark for crude is trending above $102 per barrel.

“The crude market is under intense pressure, with conflict and uncertainty driving higher prices for a major product that powers the global economy,” says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “Gas prices may be falling right now, but the climbing cost of crude is impossible to ignore.”

As nations scramble to ship and access crude oil, pump prices could be very shifty this week. With emergency releases of crude oil over the past several weeks, the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve is also getting closer to the low end of operating thresholds, further complicating market forecasts.

Here’s a look at Idaho gas prices as of Oct. 26:

Boise – $4.71
Coeur d’Alene – $4.37
Franklin – $4.63
Idaho Falls – $4.63
Lewiston – $4.40
Pocatello – $4.61 (an incredible 22-cent drop this week!!)
Rexburg – $4.78
Twin Falls – $4.71
