POCATELLO — A man was arrested and charged in Bannock County after a search warrant was executed and law enforcement allegedly found more than 600 grams of methamphetamine.
Brandon Jeffrey Allan, 48, has been charged one count of trafficking in methamphetamine and one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
According to state court documents, on Oct. 22 detectives with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force executed a search warrant on a vehicle on I-15 near mile marker 33.
Inside the vehicle, allegedly driven by Allan, detectives allegedly found a cooler containing 675.8 gross grams of a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, according to documents.
Officers determined that Allan had driven to Utah on Oct. 21 using mobile surveillance data, the court documents state. As Allan was advised of his Miranda Rights, court documents allege Allan admitted to traveling out of state and coming back with “a little over a pound of meth to be distributed in Idaho Falls,” documents state.
If found guilty of the charges against him, Allan may face up to life in prison and may be required to pay fines of up to $125,000.
Allan has been appointed a public defender. The Idaho State Public Defender’s Office does not comment on active cases.
He is expected to appear in court Nov. 4 for a preliminary hearing.
Although Allan has been charged with these crimes, that doesn’t necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
