Motorcycist flown to hospital after hitting bear near Swan Valley

SWAN VALLEY — A Wyoming motrocyclist was flown to the hospital after hitting a bear near Swan Valley Wednesday evening.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on Idaho Highway 31 near milepost 7.
The 55-year-old from Jackson was traveling northbound on the highway when he hit the bear, according to a news release from Idaho State Police. The man, who police say was not wearing a helmet, was airlifted to the hospital.
Northbound lanes were blocked for approximately four hours while police investigated.
