SHELLEY — Police are investigating after reports of a bizarre series of what are believed to be prank calls about a popular pizza chain restaurant.
According to a public notice issued on Facebook from the Shelley Police Department, officers have received multiple reports of people receiving calls from a man claiming to be a Domino’s employee.
“The caller has made allegations that food delivered to residents has been tampered with or that he has returned to residences where he previously made deliveries and engaged in inappropriate activities in the yard,” says the post.
The Shelley Police Department detectives told EastIdahoNews.com they could not clarify what those inappropriate activities were.
Officers say they are working with the local Domino’s to determine whether there is any validity to these claims. EastIdahoNews.com reached out to the Domino’s location in Shelley and confirmed they are currently working with police.
Police say they have no information confirming these allegations are legitimate, and the calls are believed to be pranks.
“We understand that receiving a call like this can be concerning. If you receive one of these calls, please do not provide personal information or engage with the caller,” says the post. “If you have a legitimate concern regarding a food delivery or suspicious activity at your residence, contact the Shelley Police Department.”
