Delta Plane Forced to Make Emergency Landing After Problem on Departure
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — A Delta plane experienced a systems issue on Tuesday, forcing the Boeing 757 to return to Los Angeles International Airport shortly after takeoff.
The plane departed from Los Angeles on Tuesday morning with 152 passengers on board. After what Delta is calling a “potential systems issue” was observed, the aircraft circled the airport to burn fuel — to ensure a safe landing — and then returned to the gate under its own power.
According to ABC’s Los Angeles affiliate KABC-TV, Delta said in a statement that it is working to reaccommodate customers and is examining the airplane.
