‘Rowdy’ Crowds Gather, 31 Arrested After University of Kentucky’s Final Four Loss
Published at(LEXINGTON, Ky.) — After the University of Kentucky was eliminated from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday night, crowds of fans took to the streets, with dozens ending up arrested by police.
City officials told ABC affiliate WTVQ-TV that the crowds were “rowdy, and at times, hostile.” In total, 31 people were arrested in the aftermath of the game, which saw the Wildcats’ quest for a historic undefeated season come to an end.

The Wildcats had been 38-0 and were two wins from perfection and an NCAA championship.
Most of the arrests, WTVQ says, were for disorderly conduct or alcohol intoxication. Three additional people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
