NFL Changes Extra Point Rule
Published at | Updated at(SAN FRANCISCO) — NFL owners voted on Tuesday to approve a change in the rule regarding extra points after touchdowns.
The new rule moves the kick back to the 15-yard line, and keeps the two-point conversion at the 2-yard line, Dean Blandino, the Vice President of officiating for the NFL said on Twitter.
The new changes also make the play “live” which allows the defense to return a blocked kick or a turnover on a two-point play for points.
The final vote was 30-2 with Washington and Oakland voting no, ESPN reports. The rule change will be reviewed by NFL owners after one year.
