Report: Anti-Violence Group Advocate for Ray Rice’s NFL Return

Rob Carr/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — A group that advocates to end violence against women says Ray Rice, the former Ravens running back who was caught on video punching his then-fiancee in an elevator, deserves another chance.
The founders of A Call to Men, a national anti-violence group, have worked with Rice since November and believe he deserves to play in the NFL again, ESPN reports.
“We have been around a lot of abusive men, but our experience with Ray has been tremendously positive,” Tony Porter of A Call to Men said, according to ESPN. “We feel strongly about him having the opportunity of having a second chance. He’s deserving of it.”
Porter’s A Call to Men co-founder, Ted Bunch, said Rice is “seeing the bigger picture,” and has “held himself accountable.” Though Rice does want to compete again, he’d also like to “make a difference in the world,” reports ESPN.
As of yet, there’s been discussion of bringing Rice back to the league, but no actual plans have been confirmed.
