Pettitte Back with the Yankees
Published at(TAMPA, FL) — After retiring just one season ago, pitcher Andy Pettitte has signed a one-year minor league contract with the New York Yankees. Pettitte has also been invited to spring training and if he makes the major league roster he will receive $2.5 million deal.
“He had to obviously take a lot less than we all believe he’s worth,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. “We’ll do a minor league contract and he’ll get a full spring training under his belt. Then we’ll see where it takes us.”
Pettitte, 39, last pitched during the 2010 season. He compiled a 11-3 record to go with a 3.28 ERA in 21 games with the Yankees.
