Scammers Posing as Utility Employees

Here is how it works someone claiming to represent Idaho Falls utility department is demanding that customers pay overdue bills using a prepaid VISA card. City officials say its not standard protocol for utilities to call customers about overdue bills, and will instead send notifications through mail. They say similar scams involving fraudsters posing as Rocky Mountain Power employees offering “free bill pay” have also targeted parts of Idaho and Utah.
