UPDATE: Winter storm warnings and advisories issue in eastern Idaho

IDAHO FALLS — Many parts of eastern Idaho will see frequent snow starting Saturday until late Tuesday.
A long-duration storm began hitting parts of eastern Idaho at around noon Saturday. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the higher elevation areas along the Idaho/Wyoming state line. A winter weather advisory has been issued in the valleys.
The storm warning encompasses the following communities: Victor, Ashton, Driggs, Island Park, Soda Springs, Henry, Bone, Hailey, Bellevue, Picabo, Clayton, Stanley and Ketchum. Officials say these communities could see between 15 and 35 inches of snow over the three days. The northern communities — such as those in Fremont or Teton counties — and the ones at the highest elevations will bear the brunt of the storm and see the most snow, according to NWS officials.
The weather advisory impacts the following communities: Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Mud Lake, Dubois, Small, Arco, Mackay,
and Challis. Over the three day period, these regions may see between 2 and 8 inches of snow.
Winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected throughout eastern Idaho with gusts up to 40 mph. Blowing and drift snowing will cause slippery roads and reduced visibility. For the latest road conditions visit 511 Idaho.
