(FORT HALL) – The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes have secured a federal grant valued at more than $680,000. U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson tells Local News 8 that the funds will go toward the reservation’s Violence Against Women Tribal Governments Program. The initiative would support domestic violence education and awareness in an effort to promote public safety among American Indians. The Nez Perce Tribe in northern Idaho was also awarded a grant for its Tribal Youth Program valued at over $350,000.
