Man appears in court after allegedly shoving man and causing skull fracture

IDAHO FALLS – A man appeared in court on Thursday after reportedly shoving a man at a bar and causing traumatic injury.
Micah Danner, 30, was charged with felony aggravated battery on Sept. 22.
According to Idaho Falls police, officers were called around 12:15 a.m. on Aug. 21, with an unknown person stating there was an unconscious man in the parking lot of a local bar.
When police and EMS arrived, they found the man was “extremely intoxicated and unable to identify himself.” He was transported to EIRMC for medical care, according to the police report.
Idaho Falls Police were later contacted by a woman, who said her husband had been assaulted at a bar and was now at EIRMC with a “brain bleed.”
When officers arrived at the hospital, they found the man awake and talking. He told police he did not remember much but recalled drinking “approximately 6-8 (beers) plus at least one shot” before he went to the bar.
He told officers he believed he “consumed at least one beer and one shot of liquor” at the bar, according to court documents.
The man said the next thing he knew, he woke up in the hospital. Officers state in the court documents that the man has “a laceration on the top of his head and bruising and redness on his left forearm.”
A criminal complaint states the victim had a “skull fracture and a subdural hematoma.”
When officers interviewed the man’s wife, she told them she had been drinking with her husband that night before he left to continue drinking at the bar. She told police he drank “10-12 beers prior to going to the bar.”
The woman said when she woke up in the morning, she learned her husband was in the ICU and went to EIRMC where she spoke to her husband. She then posted to Facebook, asking if anybody saw what happened, according to the police report.
The woman said a man named Micah Danner responded to her post saying “he had been the person who pushed (the victim) but never meant to harm him.”
Another woman contacted the victim’s wife via Facebook and sent her a video of the incident in which a male, allegedly Danner, walked up to (the victim) and shoved him once.
According to the woman, the victim did not get up after he was shoved, and a bouncer from the bar came out to talk to Danner about “not pushing people.”
The woman told police the victim had been “exited from the bar twice already that night and was attempting to get back in when (Danner) pushed him possibly in an attempt to keep him from going back inside.”
A warrant was issued for Danner’s and he was booked into the Bonneville County Jail where his bond was set at $35,000.
Though Danner has been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
Danner is scheduled to appear in felony magistrate court on Nov. 9. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
