(WASHINGTON) — With the fiscal cliff negotiations at a standstill, President Obama spent Thursday afternoon visiting wounded service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, meeting 10 combat-wounded service members and their families.
During his visit to the hospital, the president met with nine soldiers and one Marine, according to the White House. Unlike in previous visits, Obama did not award any Purple Hearts on Thursday.
This marked the president’s 13th visit to the military hospital and his second of this year.
