Burger King Cuts Ties with Supplier in Wake of Horsemeat Scandal
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Burger King is severing ties with a supplier in the wake of a horsemeat scandal.
The fast food chain had been buying beef from Silvercrest Food, an Irish supplier. But tests done in Britain showed the company’s beef patties contained traces of horsemeat.
Irish health officials believe the horsemeat got into the beef from another European country, but they won’t say which one.
There is no risk to eating horsemeat.
