RIGBY — No one was hurt in a shed that caught fire in Rigby Monday morning.
It happened around 9 a.m. at 174 South 1st West, according to Jefferson County’s Central Fire District Chief Carl Anderson.
The 12-foot by 16-foot shed, along with a wooden fence and backyard vegetation, went up in flames due to someone burning a garbage pile nearby.
“There were a total of 3 (homes) that were affected by the fire in regards to fencing,” Anderson writes in a news release.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. The shed was completely destroyed.
Anderson is reminding residents that open burning in city limits is prohibited. Violations can result in a fine up to $100. Campfires that are attended and 36 inches or less in diameter are allowed.
