“Star Trek Into Darkness” Opens Nationwide Thursday
Published at(NEW YORK) — J.J. Abrams’ follow-up to his 2009 Star Trek prequel opens nationwide on Thursday.
In Star Trek Into Darkness, the crew of the Enterprise is confronted with a new villain: someone from within their own organization. Captain Kirk, again played by Chris Pine, leads the effort to capture the bad guy.
The cast again features Zachary Quinto, as Spock; Zoe Saldana, as Uhura; Karl Urban, as Bones; Simon Pegg, as Scotty; Anton Yelchin, as Chekov; and John Cho, as Sulu.
Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the mysterious villain.
Star Trek Into Darkness, which is screening in 3D, is rated PG-13. It’s the only movie opening in wide release this week. [Click here to read a review]
