IDAHO FALLS — After a frustrating loss in last year’s state championship game, Hillcrest bounced back this season.

The Knights beat conference foe Skyline in the 5A title game and the accolades are still pouring in.

Junior quarterback Tyson Sweetwood was named 5A Player of the Year after putting up some impressive numbers — passing for 2,660 yards and 23 touchdowns and rushing for 995 yards with 16 touchdowns.

Hillcrest’s Brennon Mossholder was named Coach of the Year.

Offensive linemen Michael McCartney and Austin Reeves were tabbed first team, as was kicker Rylan Borgman and receiver Jace Judy.

Skyline QB CarMyne Garcia was selected first team after leading the Grizzlies to the championship game, as was receiver Zyan Crockett and offensive lineman Daxton Perkins.

Both teams were well represented on the defensive first team.

Defensive linemen Kaesen Smith of Skyline and Damien Simmons of Hillcrest were chosen to the first team, as were linebackers Daxon Sargent of Hillcrest, and Bennett Southwick of Skyline.

Pocatello’s Hunter Cordell was named first-team punter.
