Engineer Buys Hydro-Power Plant
Published at(ST. ANTHONY, ID) – An Idaho Falls engineer has purchased the old hydro-electric plant in St. Anthony. Ted Sorenson of Sorenson Engineering will completely revamp the 700-kilowatt facility, which was sold by Rocky Mountain Power. The plant has been out of operation since 2002, when a mechanical failure shut down both turbines. Under a 20-year agreement, Sorenson will sell electricity produced by the turbines to Rocky Mountain Power customers. Sorenson hopes to have the plant up and running within six months.
