A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until the end of the year, the East Idaho News elves will be delivering gifts from Secret Santa and we’ll be sharing the surprise videos here.

Justin is a one-on-one aide in Oneida School District #351. He needs heart surgery, but a blood clot has prevented doctors from operating. The family has spent significant time and money trying to get him healthy enough for the procedure, but so far, they haven’t succeeded.

Despite the setbacks, Justin remains deeply committed to the students he works with each day. Coworkers say he shows up with a positive attitude, even though there are days when he feels too sick to work.

Justin and his wife, Heather, both hold multiple jobs to make ends meet. Heather is the receptionist at the school, and both she and Justin serve as school custodians. Heather also works at the community pool.

The couple is known for their service-minded spirit, regularly coaching and promoting healthy living throughout the community. But behind the scenes, they’ve been quietly struggling. For years, they have tried to save money, yet Justin’s health issues and other necessities have prevented them from getting ahead — especially when it comes to repairing their home. Their roof is in desperate need of replacement, a burden that has weighed heavily on the family.

Secret Santa heard about Justin and Heather and asked the East Idaho News elves to pay them a visit with an early Christmas gift. Check out the surprise in the video player above!
