CHUBBUCK — A new urgent care facility has opened in the Portneuf Valley.
Portneuf Health has expanded its operations by opening a new clinic in Chubbuck, right next to the city’s border with Pocatello. The facility officially opened last week after a ribbon cutting, and it now treats patients in the Portneuf Valley community.
“Portneuf is thrilled to add this second urgent care location as another site of care for patients in our region. Chubbuck is experiencing a lot of commercial and residential growth, and we want to support that momentum by offering a convenient location for people who live, work and shop in that area,” says Scot Stevens, vice president of Physician Services at Portneuf Health, in a written statement.
Portneuf Health’s first urgent care location opened in 2023 on Olympus Drive. This facility is located at 230 Bullock Street, down the street from one of the busiest intersections in Chubbuck and Pocatello.

Stevens told EastIdahoNews.com at the urgent care’s groundbreaking in July that being located in a growing area was important to Portneuf Health.
“This is a very busy place. You’ve got Walmart, and a lot of this retail and restaurants, so for us to be in the middle of that action was really important,” Stevens said in July.
The new facility is 3,500 square feet in total, and it houses five exam rooms and one procedure room. Patients are now being seen for common, non-life threatening conditions in these rooms, including colds, flus, earaches and minor injuries.
Patients requiring emergency or specialized treatment are referred to or transported to Portneuf Medical Center.
Stevens told EastIdahoNews.com that Portneuf Health is excited that its expanded its care options for the community.
“Last year our urgent care clinic at Northgate received a Readers’ Choice Award for best urgent care, and we are proud to bring that same level of care and scope of services to Chubbuck. Now our patients can travel a shorter distance to visit a Portneuf facility and access our highly trained staff,” Stevens says.
