She graduated from Davis High School in 1963. After high school Donna attended LDS Business College, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had a strong testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She served in many callings, including Primary Teacher, a Counselor in Primary Presidency, Relief Society Chorister and Relief Society Teacher, for many years. Her favorite calling was teaching the Relief Society because she felt, she learned more than she taught.

Donna was a hard worker and started working at a young age doing babysitting and working on the family farm. She also worked in hospital housekeeping, and for the genealogical Society, in Salt Lake City, UT. This is where her love for family history and indexing began. During her children’s growing up years, she worked as a cook at the school, and milked cows to sell the milk. Donna spent many years working as a cook at BYU-Idaho, and the Rexburg Senior Center. When she retired from BYU-Idaho, she got a job working at a daycare in Ashton. Donna had a great love for children, and she loved and influenced many in Ashton. She was “Grandma” to everyone that was around her family. Donna’s final job was a front desk clerk, at a local motel. Donna was able to do that until just prior to her passing.
Donna was a wonderful cook and was always cooking for her family. She was an excellent candy maker, and loved to share the treats, especially at Christmas. Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each one of them. Donna loved watching them grow and seeing their individual personalities in action. She was always talking about them and telling them stories. She had many passions in life, including reading, family history, and indexing. During her lifetime she indexed over 2,700,000 names. She also enjoyed watching Utah Jazz, a good cheeseburger, and a cold Pepsi.
Donna is survived by her children Donetta and Clair Jackson of Williston, ND, and Lyle and Shauna Galloway of Ashton, ID. She is also survived by her grandchildren Derek and (Katie) Jackson, Devin and (Codi) Jackson, Carlene and (Blake) Sewell, Dillon and (Colleen) Galloway Courtney and (Colter) Cannon, Britteney Galloway, Paxston and (Kegan) Hughes, Megan and (Hayden) Ott and Austin Galloway and 30 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
