She returned a teen’s lost wallet and replaced his birthday cash. Then we showed up for Feel Good Friday.

We recently received an email about a teenage boy who lost his wallet at Walmart and a kind stranger who helped him get it back. Here’s what the message said:

My 14-year-old son recently lost his wallet while shopping at Walmart. He was pretty sad about it. He had just gotten $20 from his grandma for his birthday and we were going to the store to pick out a gift. He also had a debit card and another card inside. We kept checking with Walmart customer service hoping someone would turn it in. Four days later someone posted on Facebook that they had found his wallet. We made arrangements to go to their home to pick it up. We were mostly concerned that the debit card was found. When I arrived at the Gonzalez’s home, Caroline went to their vehicle to get me the wallet. I opened it up expecting that the cash would be gone, which it was. I spoke with them for a few minutes and told them that there was $20 cash in the wallet and just guessing someone had taken it from Walmart where he had dropped it, taken the cash and discarded the wallet out their window afterwards. The wallet was found on another roadway in Blackfoot. Without hesitation, the Gonzalez family pulled out $20 and asked me to give it to my son. I refused at first, saying they didn’t need to do that. They insisted that they wanted to. I was so touched that a complete stranger would do this for my son. I went back to my car and before I could drive away, tears streamed down my cheeks. There are good people out there. I would love to have them receive the “Feel Good Friday” for making a bad situation turn out good.
