Coroner identifies Idaho Falls man who died in fatal crash near Ririe that sent multiple to hospital

RIRIE – The Bonneville County Coroner has identified the man who died on Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash east of Ririe.
Coroner Shante Sanchez identified the man as 32-year-old Valentin Armenta Algandar of Idaho Falls.

According to the coroner’s office, they responded along with the Idaho State Police to investigate a two-vehicle fatality crash at 6:45 p.m. at milepost 358 on US Highway 26.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Fire/EMS, the Swan Valley Fire Department and Central Fire also responded to support ISP.
According to the coroner, evidence on the scene suggested that a 2010 Hyundai Accent, driven by Armenta Algandar, was traveling westbound while a 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 49-year-old woman from Jackson, Wyoming, was traveling eastbound.
Armenta Algandar appears to have lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lanes, where he collided with the Chevrolet.
Five occupants of the Tahoe were transported to a local hospital. Their statuses are unknown.
“Our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” says the coroner’s office.
